If you are a carer of babies, toddlers or home-educated older children, bring them along with you to our rehearsals and sing! No previous experience of singing or music needed (though always welcome). Just come and sing in the company of other Mums, Dads, Grannies, Granddads and Carers. Enjoy! This choir is for YOU, while your child plays. On most days there will be a registered childminder in attendance, though the children will be your responsibility at all times. We have a sketch club for older children during the first half of the rehearsal, and a craft table for younger children throughout to help foster quiet, focused, yet fun activities while the adults sing. If you are bringing an older child with you, they are more than welcome to bring a book or quiet activity with them.
We meet in Lostwithiel Scout Hut from 9.45 am - 11.30, on Friday mornings during term time. We start singing from 10.00 am. £4.00 per adult (or £3.00 per adult if more than one from the same family) plus an additional 50p for each child over 5. Under 5s are free. The cost includes all music, craft activities and refreshments (including proper coffee!)
We are not only a choir but a community of friends who all help out in the successful running of the choir; from directing the choir to musical accompaniment and organising behind the scenes. Contributions and help from choir members are always welcome and appreciated. Whether that be lending a hand tidying away toys, making coffee, arranging a piece of music or bringing along an instrument to accompany the singing. We look forward to welcoming you.
